Halloween Bash 2009
Well, well, well....this certainly was one for the books.
The party went great! We had a awesome number of people in costume! I was really pleased the way everything turned out.
Jonathan dressed up as Billy Mays, beard and all. I told him it was too soon but he was determined.
Katie was a Starbucks Cup. We labored all day making the costume. It came out soooo awesome! We made it all out of felt and wire. It came out amazing.
I was a Deviled Egg. Katie and I made me a egg costume that I wore out of the felt and we stuffed to make me look like an egg. Painted a yellow yolk on it with little red dots on top. To top it off I wore a headband with devil horns and a little devil tail.
Although, the Best Costume award went to Jonathan's sister Corrie and her boyfriend Sean. They were Mr & Ms PacMan. Corrie made the costumes...they were absolutely amazing! She also made a stick with one of the white dots and cherries on the end. They won best costume hands down.
Our only Zombie of the night got her award for Scariest Costume. And Katie rounded out the awards being the winner of the Cutest Costume with her Starbucks Cup.
Oh! And the picture of the night was having Ghost scare everyone. Our friend Sarah dressed up like an old school ghost with just a sheet over her head and blacked out eyes. The best 'scare' picture was of Ghost scaring Pimp. He even threw his pimp cane in the air.
Here are a few pics that we got from the night:
Starbucks Cup and Ghost:
Jonathan as Billy Mays:
Me as Deviled Egg:
Jon Hall as Banana (and yes he is wearing Mickey Mouse hands, although I really feel that it totally completed the costume):
Mikael as Duct-Tape Man:
Monique as Dorothy, complete with a real-life Toto:
Corrie and Sean as Mr & Ms PacMan (complete with Ghost trying to scare them in the background):
And finally, Ghost scaring Pimp:

Let's Play Catch-Up!
Ok, so I know that I've taken a while off of the blog...I am aware of the situation (see previous post).
So here is a re-cap of the time that has passed:
- Dad is now Cancer free! Yay! They ended up taking approx. two feet of colon out along with his appendix. No chemo was/is necessary. Needless to say we were extremely excited.
- We have been trying to find a building to move the business. This is way beyond difficult. Lets couple my Mom, the pickiest person alive, with a market that is saturated with buildings that aren't to her liking. Argh. It's like trying to nail Jell-O to the wall. She won't make a decision and she just keeps getting distracted by different buildings/areas/options/properties. Beyond difficult.
- Jonathan and I got Annual Passes for Disneyland. By far the best purchase of the year. It is the best time filler. Nothing to do? Hey, lets go to Disneyland! Ok! It really is the happiest place on earth. I hadn't been in years and I did forget how much I really did love it.
- I seriously need a vacation. But there are two problems with this: Not enough extra spending cash right now and I can't take as much time off as I would like. And I can't nail down where we would go. Too many options...And yes K8 - you guys are on the top of the list. I do miss the Pacific NW!
- I have now become one of those people that takes my digital camera with me everywhere. How did that happen? I don't know...
- My home is still overrun with the Parents and Sister. Ugh. I wish I could just go home and relax. For anyone that knows my Mom, you know that isn't possible. She goes 150 MPH at all times. It really wears on you after a while.
- I have this list in my head of my whole plan for when I win the lottery. I modify it on a semi-regular basis. The clincher is though, I don't EVER buy a lottery ticket. Ever. But I do have this inkling in the back of my head that I will one day win. I need to start buying a ticket for that to happen.
- I really want the Angels to go to the World Series. I think that we have the talent and the want to make it happen. I am sending all my best thoughts to all the players.
- I really want the Chargers to be awesome this year. A healthy LT and Merriman. Too bad that obviously isn't going to happen.
No...I'm not dead...lol
Nope, I'm not dead. I've just been neglecting this 'ole blog.
Fear Not! I will resume updating this bad boy. I do have some things that are weighing on my mind. I do remember that this was a nice little therapy session, so I will have to resume it.
Anyhoo...I will be updating soon!

Stress Level: Infinity
I know it's been a while since I've blogged. I can only blame myself.
I do however have excuses...
#1 My Dad was diagnosed with Colon Cancer
#2 My Mom, Dad and Presley are now here indefinitely. Living on my house.
#3 I no longer have a refuge to go to de-stress. (This is the one that is really killing me.)
I'm going to leave it at 'Top 3 Excuses'.
I seriously feel trapped. I don't have any way of being without stress. My way of getting rid of the stress was to go home and relax. Now, all the stress is worse at home.
What's better than going to work for 10 hours with stress, driving home for an hour in traffic and then getting home to a whole bunch more stress?
Awesome.
Well, I just felt the need to say that. Hopefully with all the stuff happening I will be able to blog sooner. Maybe I can use this as an outlet as well.

Humidity = 100%
Took Presley to her swim lesson last night and man was it humid in there!!! I felt like I was in Florida! It was intense.
And oh dear goodness was it loud in there too. This place the instructors do more of the higher level swimmers, so they are yelling at the kids all the time.
Loud + Humid = 0% on the Fun-O-Meter.
Anyhoo, I know I forgot to blog last night, so I am doing this one now and will do one later tonight. When my mom is here, I seriously lose so much focus on the things that I need to do for myself. I haven't been able to walk the dogs with Jonathan and I forgot all the things I needed at the store when we went. Whirlwind I tell ya!

I'm Back!
I know I know...I sucked hard at getting back on the horse of blogging daily.
But I'm back!!
Anyhoo, lets get down to business. So many things have happened since the last time I've blogged. Here are my thoughts...
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - Awesome! Katie, Jonathan and I stood in line for the Midnight showing (I am aware of the fact that we are nerd-tastic). Aaron and Sarah came later and met us in the theater. Katie and I were a bit delirious by the time the movie started. We were playing games on my iPhone. We actually played the longest game of checkers ever. I now very much dislike checkers.
Now for my opinion of the movie: I really liked all the character development in this one; it was much more humorous than any of the other movies; I liked how the wrote the screenplay somewhat; I wish they would have put the fight in after Dumbledore dies <--That would be my only complaint. Overall, I think it was great. We've seen it twice so far, and I liked it equally both times.
I'm seriously loving the new season of Burn Notice. I wasn't too sure of where they were going to take it since he jumped out of a helicopter...but I really like it. Jonathan has also fallen in love with the show after Burn Notice, which is Royal Pains. It is actually pretty ok. Jonathan likes it much more than I do, so he watches it mostly.
While we are talking about TV, let me mention that I can't wait for the new season of Top Gear to air here. Why can't we get it at the same time as the UK?!?!? Why BBC America? Why?
We are still in an advanced state of budget crisis here in California. Although the Governator has signed our budget, the employee service unions are in a uproar about it. Oh well. Nothing too much we as the helpless tax payers can do to stop all the trash talking in the media. I am glad that our Governator stuck to his guns this time and didn't sign any new taxes into effect. Hey, we are already the most highly taxed state in the union...we don't need anymore taxes! Oh here is an interesting statistic for you: California accounts for 12% of the population of the country, but we have 30% of the welfare cases in the country. Crazy huh? And people wonder why the state is broke.
I found out that the Tahoe qualifies for the 'Cash for Clunkers' program if I trade it in on a car that gets 4-9 MPG better. Which pretty much boils it down to any other car on the road bar another light truck/SUV. I was thinking about all the cars I would get. The list is way too long, I can't widdle it down to just one or two. I basically have a top three that I to get. But hey, it's all dreams isn't it?
We've started a couple home improvement projects. We are painting the inside of the garage doors to match Jonathans color scheme. It looks pretty shabby now because it isn't done yet. I will post some pics when we are done with it.
I really want a deck and a patio cover in the backyard. In the summer there isn't a spec of shade back there until late afternoon. This isn't conducive to party's or BBQ's. It's just too damn hot out there! So I really want the patio cover more than I want the deck. I just want some shade to sit in outside. Of course I would love a pool to go with it all, but we seriously can't afford that right now.
The HPCPWP never happened. That would be the Harry Potter Comfy Pant Watching Party. Sadly it never happened because Katie's friend had some family problems, so it didn't happen. But we are going to do it soon. We surmised that the ultimate to the HPCPWP would be to then to go the theater and see #6! How fun would that be?!? I know!
I've gotten back into my Netflix lately. We've had it for about two years now, but we haven't been using it since early 2008. So I have recently started us back up into getting going with it. We both updated our queue's and we are rolling. I've been rating movies a couple at a time, and have added some that they've suggested. The flip side awesomeness of us getting back into this is the fact that I have to go get the mail to get my movie. So it is in fact getting me over my mail fear. That folks is how you kill two birds with one stone. So if you have a Netflix account, then let me know so I can add you as a Netflix friend!
I have to go pick up my mom at the airport tomorrow. Jonathan is a bit stressed about it. I have come to terms with it.
The one good thing of her coming is that she has vowed to move the office from Chino to some where down towards home. She is so serious about it that she hasn't booked her return flight so she won't have any time constraints on her (which Jonathan doesn't like that he doesn't have a day to look forward to...ha ha ha). I'm really beyond super ecstatic that a building that has a very strong possibility of us occupying is exactly 5.6 miles away from my house!!! How awesome is that? That is something of my dreams that I would be able to be home in under 15 min! Think of it, I would be able to go home for lunch! Gasp!
I am still hopelessly addicted to the following: Coffee (all types), Google Reader, and Facebook.
I got Rhett shaved for the summertime. He now looks identical to Pearl except for the fact that he is taller.
I would really like to go on a vacation somewhere. I wish that I had enough money to start saving for a trip abroad. I really want to go to the UK. Really bad. I want to see London desperately. Although I would really take any kind of travel. Maybe a weekend to San Fran, maybe Portland, Seattle, Eugene (for you K8!). I don't count Colorado as a vacation when we go. It isn't a vacation when my mother is involved. She is a bit of a stress ball.
Well, I think that is all I have for tonight. I have to save some for tomorrow :)
